For some of the deflating items like durables, the consumer financing costs are sure not lower - yet. So the net effect there gets washed away. It's a start! Long way to go. Rentals mixed by region (NYC not deflating either). Shelter still a big asterisk though on derived metrics.
Food, Autos, Rent, Gas...please inform me where I can go to acquire these items at a lower price because having eaten today, car shopped recently, bought gas this afternoon and listened to my kid describe her rent increase in a not luxury Miami high rise not one of these items is getting less expensive...so while you think the candidates dont always tell the truth I think the Govt and its inflation numbers are full of it...big time

You need to look in the ex-CA, ex-NYC, ex-Miami special aggregates. Those items are only 2x2 units and available on late Fridays.
