Market Commentaries from Glenn Reynolds, CFA
We get back into the publishing game with simply too much going on with inflation and the debates on the business cycle.
I am kickstarting a return to publishing articles after a respectable and mandatory period of quiet time in connection with the 2021 sale of the company I co-founded back in 2000 (CreditSights). Anyone new to my background can check out my bio and experience on LinkedIn.
For the game plan from here, I have had my face in the screen every day managing a small stock portfolio, and there is just too much going on to not jump in. I graduated from college and came to New York in June 1980 – the top tick in the Misery Index at 22% – so ugly inflation, volatile markets, and tectonic moving parts have been giving me a twisted sense of nostalgia.Â
I have always avoided social media like The Plague, but it is time to learn some new tricks on content delivery. LinkedIn seems like a good place to start a free research product. Anything and anyone else in my game plan will come later, but the world has evolved quite a bit with platforms such as Substack and more ways to reach those looking for useful information resources. Disruption seems to be the new thing in publishing – but the same as the old thing.
Here I will focus on posting charts and text that are brief and punchy. I will save the word-heavy activities for other venues. I have ramped up a detailed archive and will continue to build it out, but those are too long for this forum in my view. I can’t bore you this early in the game.
From here we will just start posting. Time to get busy.
